"It's an event like the book festival that supports democracy through sharing ideas, culture and dialogue. This is the heart of what you do for Wisconsin citizens. -- 2007 Survey Respondent

Madison, October 14--The 2007 Wisconsin Book Festival kicked off on October 10 with an event by Terry Tempest Williams and Rick Bass, and culminated on Sunday evening with a reading by Michael Cunningham.

In between, featured presenters from around the globe descended upon Madison to give Wisconsinites a view of the literary landscape. With books about places such as Africa to Mexico to the West Bank and to rural Wisconsin, Festival authors came to give their interpretation of what Domestic Tranquility means.
