Join the Wisconsin Book Festival and Forward Theater Company for a kickoff event previewing the world premiere of Forward Theater’s Murder Girl! This event will feature playwright Heidi Armbruster talking with Joanne Berg, owner of Mystery To Me bookstore, about crafting an original screenplay and Forward Theater actors performing a snippet or two from the show. Get ready for Friday night fish fry with a side of hilarious whodunit!

It’s close to 5:00 PM, and the crew at Marty’s Supper Club in the woods of Wisconsin have big fish to fry. Twins Eric and LeeAnn are trying to keep their family business afloat, but a little thing called murder may get in the way. Open your holiday season with this home-grown, world-premiere comedy about found family, old fashioneds, and where to stow the roadkill. As an actress, Heidi has extensive New York and regional theater credits, including “Time Stands Still” on Broadway, Lincoln Center’s production of the Pulitzer Prize winning play “Disgraced,” the New York premieres of Sam Hunter’s “Lewiston/Clarkston” at Rattlestick, Anna Ziegler’s “Boy” at Keen Company, Tracy Letts’ “Man from Nebraska” at Second Stage, and Theresa Rebeck’s “Poor Behavior” at Primary Stages. Heidi was awarded a Drama League Nomination for her work in the Keen Company’s revival of “Tea and Sympathy.”  Heidi’s Film and TV credits include Deadringers, Evil, Pose, Divorce, The Deuce, Tommy, Daredevil, Ray Donovan, The Blacklist, Blue Bloods, 30 Rock, House of Cards, Michael Clayton, Revolutionary Road, Come Find Me, Incurable, Poor Behavior, My Man Is A Loser, The Northern Kingdom, Michelle on Darren Star’s Younger, Karen on Netflix’s Partner Track, and Noelle on Manifest.

Heidi received her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
